How to change your iPhone location on Windows
Updated 2026-10-10You can set your iPhone's location to anywhere in the world from a Windows PC. It takes about five minutes the first time, and nothing on your iPhone is modified.
What you need
- A PC with Windows 10 or 11
- An iPhone on iOS 17.4 or later
- A cable that carries data (some cheap cables only charge)
1. Install Pinshift
Download Pinshift for Windows and open it. The installer also adds the two things Windows needs to talk to an iPhone (Apple's iPhone driver and a small helper), so there's nothing else to set up.
2. Connect your iPhone
Plug your iPhone into the PC and unlock it. When it asks Trust This Computer?, tap Trust and enter your passcode.
3. Turn on Developer Mode
Changing the location uses Apple's developer tools, which need Developer Mode. Pinshift turns it on for you, or shows you where it is: Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode. Your iPhone restarts; unlock it and tap Turn On. You only do this once.
4. Pick a place and change your location
Search for any place, paste a Google Maps or Apple Maps link, or click the map. Press Change Location. Every app on your iPhone now sees the new place.
5. Go back to your real location
Press Reset, or restart your iPhone. You can also set a timer so it goes back by itself.
Next time, no cable
After the first time over USB, Pinshift can reach your iPhone over Wi-Fi when both are on the same network.
If it doesn't connect
- Use a different cable and plug straight into the PC, not a hub.
- Keep your iPhone unlocked while Pinshift connects.
- Pinshift tells you exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. Still stuck? Use Send feedback in the app.
