How to change your iPhone location on a Mac
Updated 2026-10-10Pinshift for Mac sets your iPhone's location to anywhere you pick. It works on Intel and Apple silicon Macs, and nothing on your iPhone is modified.
What you need
- A Mac with macOS 12 or later (Intel or Apple silicon)
- An iPhone on iOS 17.4 or later
- A cable that carries data
1. Install Pinshift
Download Pinshift for Mac, open the file and drag Pinshift into Applications.
2. Open it the first time
Pinshift isn't from the Mac App Store, so macOS asks you to confirm once. If it says Pinshift can't be opened, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
3. Connect and trust
Plug in your iPhone, unlock it and tap Trust when it asks, then enter your passcode.
4. Turn on Developer Mode
Pinshift turns it on for you, or shows you where it is: Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode on the iPhone. It restarts; unlock it and tap Turn On. Only once.
5. Change your location
Search for a place, paste a map link or click the map, then press Change Location. Press Reset to go back to where you really are.
